“I’m stuck. And I hate it,” my friend, Charlie, said.
“Imagine that you had one technique so you could unleash your best self in any situation. You want to hear about this?” I replied.
“Yes!”
I have had personal experience in several industries: oil, banking, education, pharmacies, and the film and entertainment industry. What do these industries all have in common? Bad managers.
Research shows that people run from bad managers. People quit.
So, what can you do?
Managers can attend a workshop. Learn some new skills.
And then what happens? Many fall back into bad habits.
What makes the difference? Each person who wants to excel must make a Personal Code of the new information.
Why?
You can take a class, but in the clutch do you have the knowledge in your mind?
I guide my clients in something I created: C.A.R. — Code Access Reset(tm). I say, “If you can’t access your code in the clutch, you’re lost.” I help them reliably access their new knowledge and best practices.
Recently, one of my mentors created a draft of an article with ChatGPT along the lines of “8 Methods for Self-Mastery.” 8 methods. Will the casual reader memorize those 8 methods? No.
So, let’s go back to making a manager more effective.
I created a “code.” I call it The Triple-L. Lead, Listen, Loyalty.
An effective manager has created a team of people this manager can count on. How? “Lead, Listen, Loyalty.”
This is an example of creating a “Personal Code” of some knowledge.
Here’s another example:
When I speak on the topic “Thought Leader Launchpad,” I talk about the Thought Leader sees a vision. I focus on S.E.E.A.
What’s that? Soundbites, Evidence, Experience, Authenticity.
My point is: For you to master new information, boil it down to something that you can recall instantly.
This is the Secret Technique That No One Talks About — That Unshackles You for Real Success.
Knowledge is just noise until you can recall it instantly. And use Agile Thinking. And take positive, effective action.
